Pilgrim’s Progress. An allegory of Pilgrim’s journey to Celestial City, written by John Bunyan (not to be mistaken for my ancestor, Paul Bunyan;). He must have been inspired by God to write that book. So many of the things can be used in our Christian walk. For example, Pilgrim was told by Evangelist to “keep his eyes on the Light”, and he would not stray from the path to Celestial City. When he did take his eyes off the light, there were consequences, like the Slough of Despond. To me it is very encouraging to read something like that. If we fix our eyes on Jesus, we will not want to stray from the Narrow Way because we will have our eyes fixed on the prize that the Lord has promised us. Like Pilgrim, we do stray from time to time even though we love the Lord. Thankfully, our loving Savior forgives us of our faults, when we confess and repent them to Him. The point is, if we don’t look left nor right, and keep walking in the Spirit towards the Light, we will never stray from Him.

Yeah, it is a really good and inspirational book. The only problem is, it is written long ago, with old British English, so the real version is nearly impossible to read. ;)

Great thoughts. I always love those little reminders to keep our thoughts on thing above not on things of this earth. It can be hard sometimes but the rewards far outweigh the pain of dying to self.
